What is the NetOz Portal? A tour of every area
A guided tour of the NetOz Portal at portal.netoz.au: applications, container registry, VPN, DNS zones, redirects, email, cPanel, incidents, error logs, support and team access.
On this page
The NetOz Portal is where you manage everything NetOz hosts for your organisation. You can check your applications and deployments, give staff VPN access, edit DNS records, manage email, follow incidents and talk to our support team. You sign in at portal.netoz.au.
This guide gives you a tour of each area so you know where to go for common tasks.
What you see depends on your account
The portal shows only what applies to you:
- Your services. Some areas, such as VPN, cPanel and IP transit, only appear when that service is part of your account.
- Your permissions. Account admins see everything. Other team members only see the areas an admin has given them access to, and some can view an area without being able to change it.
If you expect to see an area and it is missing, ask an account admin in your organisation, or contact NetOz support.
Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first page you see after signing in. It summarises your account at a glance:
- Applications: how many environments you have and how many are in production
- Active incidents: whether anything is currently affecting your services
- Open tickets: support conversations awaiting a reply or in progress
- New errors: application errors logged in the last seven days
- DNS zones: domains hosted on our nameservers
- Team members: people with access, including pending invitations
Depending on your permissions, the dashboard also offers shortcuts such as New ticket, Add DNS zone and Invite teammate.
Hosting
Applications
Applications lists your sites and apps, their environments, health and deployments. Use it to check that each environment is up and to see what has been deployed recently.
Container registry and Images
If NetOz runs your applications from container images, Container registry gives you the credentials and commands for pushing images to your private registry. Images lists the images you have pushed and their tags.
Deployment guide
Deployment guide has step-by-step instructions for deploying to your environments. It is the best place to start if you are setting up a new deployment pipeline.
VPN
VPN gives your team private network access through the NetOz managed WireGuard VPN. Admins add people and devices here, and NetOz emails each person a private setup link. You can also see when each device last connected and how much data it has used. Learn more in What is the NetOz managed VPN?.
Domains & email
DNS zones
DNS zones lists the domains hosted on NetOz nameservers and the records in them. You can add, edit and remove records such as A, CNAME, MX and TXT, and enable DNSSEC for a zone. New to DNS? Read DNS record types explained and Point your domain to NetOz nameservers.
Zone requests
Zone requests lists other NetOz accounts asking to add a zone under one of your domains, such as a supplier wanting events.example.com.au. You decide whether to approve each request, and can optionally let that account add further subdomains without asking again. See Approve a subdomain request.
Verifications
Verifications lets you prove you control a domain that is hosted somewhere else, so you can use it for redirects and container hostnames without moving its DNS to NetOz. You can verify with a TXT record, a nameserver change at your registrar, a registry ID that matches your business details, or a manual review. See Verify a domain you don’t host with NetOz.
Redirects
Redirects sends visitors from one address to another, with HTTPS handled for you. This is useful for old domains, campaign addresses or moving from example.com to www.example.com.
Email is where you manage mailboxes, forwarders and sender authentication for your domains, so that your email is delivered and not marked as spam.
cPanel
If you have cPanel hosting with NetOz, cPanel lets you sign straight in to your cPanel-hosted sites from the portal.
Network
IP transit
If you buy IP transit from NetOz, IP transit is where you register the ASNs, AS-SETs and IP prefixes we carry for you, prove you hold them, and watch their RPKI health. NetOz checks every approved prefix against published ROAs each day and tells you if a route becomes RPKI Invalid. See What IP transit in the NetOz Portal covers.
Monitoring
Incidents
Incidents shows outages and maintenance affecting your services as they happen. Check here first if something seems wrong. If there is an active incident, our team is already working on it.
Error logs
Error logs collects errors reported by your applications and groups similar ones together, so patterns stand out. Developers can use it to spot problems after a deployment.
Help
Support
Support is where you talk to our team and follow your support cases. Raise a new ticket, reply to existing conversations and see what is awaiting a response.
You can also browse guides here in the NetOz Help Centre.
Account
Team
Team lists everyone who can sign in to your account and what they can do. Account admins can invite teammates by email, resend or revoke invitations, and choose whether each person is an admin or a user with specific permissions.
Sign-in activity
Sign-in activity shows recent sign-ins and failed attempts across your team. Check it regularly, and if you see sign-ins you do not recognise, contact NetOz support straight away.
Deploy keys
Deploy keys holds SSH keys that let your deployments pull private code from your source repositories.
Business details
Business details holds your organisation’s ABN or ACN. Once NetOz confirms them, they are used to verify .au domains registered to your business. See Add your business details.
Tips for getting started
- Bookmark portal.netoz.au so you can find it quickly.
- Invite your team from Team rather than sharing one login. Everyone gets their own sign-in, and you can give each person only the access they need.
- Check Sign-in activity after inviting people to confirm everyone has signed in successfully.
- Use Support for anything urgent so your request reaches the whole NetOz team and is tracked.
