Colocation Hosting in Adelaide
Rack space in our NextDC Tier IV facility with dedicated IP allocations and a pfSense handoff for full network control. Bring your hardware, we provide the connectivity.
Adelaide Colocation Services
NetOz provides colocation hosting from a NextDC Tier IV data centre in Adelaide, giving South Australian businesses access to enterprise-grade infrastructure without the cost of building and maintaining their own facility. Bring your servers, and we provide the rack space, power, cooling, and connectivity.
Every colocation plan includes dedicated public IP allocations (/30, /29, or /28 subnets), DNS hosting at no extra cost, and a choice of pfSense handoff or direct layer 2 IP assignment. Our facility features N+1 redundancy on all critical systems, redundant power feeds backed by UPS and diesel generators, and 24/7 environmental monitoring.
Whether you need a couple of rack units for a single server or a full rack for a larger deployment, our flexible pricing scales in 1RU increments. Quarter, half, and full rack options are available with 24/7 unescorted access to your equipment. Bandwidth is symmetrical and scalable from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps, with an unmetered data add-on for workloads that need it.
All equipment is housed in a secure, climate-controlled environment with biometric access control and continuous camera monitoring. Our Adelaide location means your data stays in Australia, meeting data sovereignty and compliance requirements for government, healthcare, and financial services organisations.

How It Works
pfSense Handoff
Our default setup hands off your connection to a client-side pfSense instance. From there, you have full control over your network configuration.
- •Configure NAT rules for internal services
- •Set up site-to-site or remote access VPNs
- •Create firewall rules and traffic policies
- •Add and manage network interfaces as needed
- •Full web-based management via pfSense dashboard
Direct Layer 2 Handoff
If you do not need pfSense, we can provide a direct IP handoff on layer 2. Your IPs are assigned directly to your equipment with the same subnet options.
- •IPs assigned directly to your servers or switches
- •Same /30, /29, and /28 allocation options
- •No additional firewall layer to manage
- •Ideal for clients with their own routing infrastructure
- •Simpler setup for single-purpose deployments
Rate Limiting & Traffic Management
Our Side
Rate limiting is enforced at our router to protect both your services and the wider network. This ensures fair bandwidth allocation and prevents any single client from affecting others.
Your Side
We recommend configuring rate limiting on your side as well, either through pfSense or your own equipment. This gives you smoother transmission and more granular control over how bandwidth is distributed across your services.
Ideal For
Your Own Hardware
If you already own servers or networking gear, colocation lets you house them in a Tier IV facility with enterprise power, cooling, and connectivity without building your own infrastructure.
Full Network Control
With pfSense handoff, you manage your own firewall, NAT, VPN, and routing. Configure interfaces and policies exactly the way your business needs them.
Australian Data Residency
Keep your data physically located in Adelaide with dedicated public IPs. Ideal for organisations with compliance requirements or data sovereignty needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is colocation hosting?
Colocation (or "colo") means housing your own servers and networking equipment in a professional data centre. You own and manage the hardware, while the facility provides rack space, power, cooling, physical security, and internet connectivity. It gives you the benefits of enterprise infrastructure without building your own server room.
Where is the data centre located?
Our colocation services are hosted in a NextDC Tier IV facility in Adelaide, South Australia. Tier IV is the highest level of data centre certification, designed for 99.995% uptime with full redundancy across all critical systems including power, cooling, and network connectivity.
What IP allocations are available?
We offer /30 (1 usable IP), /29 (5 usable IPs), and /28 (13 usable IPs) subnet allocations. Each includes a gateway address. All IPs are Australian-registered and include DNS hosting at no additional cost. Larger allocations can be arranged on request.
What is a pfSense handoff?
By default, we hand off your internet connection to a pfSense firewall instance on your side. This gives you full control over NAT, VPN, firewall rules, and network interfaces through a web-based dashboard. If you prefer not to use pfSense, we also offer a direct layer 2 IP handoff where addresses are assigned directly to your equipment.
Can I visit the data centre to access my equipment?
Supervised visitor access is available by appointment for clients who need to inspect their equipment or perform internal work. Quarter, half, and full rack clients receive 24/7 unescorted access. All cabling, patching, and hardware installs are performed by NetOz technicians. We also handle hard resets and drive swaps at no extra charge. Internal work (opening the chassis) can be done by you on-site, or by our team under the remote hands fee. Rack plan clients get remote hands included under fair use.
Is DNS hosting included?
Yes. DNS hosting is included at no extra cost with every colocation plan. We host your DNS zones on our Adelaide infrastructure, so your domain resolution stays local and fast.
What bandwidth speeds are available?
Bandwidth is symmetrical (same upload and download speed) and available from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps. Each 100 Mbps increment includes 1 TB of data transfer. An unmetered data add-on is also available for workloads that need unlimited transfer without data caps.
What hardware do I need to provide?
All servers must be standard 19-inch rack-mountable and include suitable rack rails. We recommend dual power supplies for redundancy. Equipment must meet Australian electrical standards. If you are unsure whether your hardware is compatible, contact us and we can advise before you commit.
Do you provide out-of-band management access?
Yes. We provide access to your server's IDRAC or IPMI interface over a dedicated management network secured behind a VPN. VPN credentials are issued through our client portal, giving you remote console access, power controls, and hardware monitoring without needing to visit the facility.
Do you offer contract discounts?
Yes. We offer tiered pricing for longer commitments: 15% off on 24-month contracts and 25% off on 36-month contracts. Use the pricing calculator above to see how contract length affects your monthly cost.
Is my data kept in Australia?
Yes. Your equipment is physically housed in Adelaide and your IP addresses are Australian-registered. Your data never leaves the country. This makes our colocation service suitable for organisations with data sovereignty, compliance, or regulatory requirements.
